Woodrow Mitchel Bell, 94, of Whiteville died on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, in the Elizabethtown Nursing & Rehab Center. 

Woodrow was born on April 10, 1930, son of the late William Jesse Bell and Mary Etta Watts Bell. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Dora Bell; daughter, Faye Reaves, brother, Henry Scarborough Bell; son, Curtis Smith.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Worthington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00-1:45 prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

The surviving family includes his wife, Peggy Sue Bass Bell; daughter, Brenda Moore; step-sons, William David Ransom (Michelle), Darian Lee Ransom (Angela), all of Whiteville; 34 Grand & Great-grandchildren.
