William "Mickey" Mitchell Griffin, Sr.

William Mitchell “Mickey” Griffin, Sr. age 83 of Boardman Community in Evergreen, went to meet his maker, Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 15, 2021, at UNC REX Hospital in Raleigh.

Mickey was born on May 13, 1938, in Robeson County, to the late William David and Helen Katherine Inman Griffin. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021, at Worthington Funeral Home, with interment to follow in the Boardman Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery; Rev. Curtis Shirley will officiate the services. *Service will be streamed live on the Worthington Funeral Home Facebook Page*

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00, Sunday evening, at the funeral home.

Mickey was an avid hunter and fisherman. He honorably served his country in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Rose Branch Griffin of the home; his son, William Mitchell “Mitch” Griffin, Jr. and wife, Sherri, of Cerro Gordo; granddaughter, Stacey G. Thompson (Barett); two great-grandchildren, Gracelyn Brooke Thompson, and Ian Walker Thompson.
