William Ernest Brown

William Ernest “Ernie” Brown, 69, of Whiteville, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Whiteville, NC.

A native of Evergreen, Ernie was born on January 13, 1957. He was preceded in death by his father, John “Jake” Brown; his daughter, Asia Walsh; and his brother, John Everet Brown.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Worthington Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Boardman Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00-2:45 p.m. prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Ernie had a deep love for tractors and farming. 

The surviving family includes his wife, Teresa Hinson Brown; mother, Betty Lou Brown Hedgepeth; children, Sarah Breanna Foster, Aaron Strickland (Julie); grandchildren, Bennett Strickland, Olivia Strickland, John Walsh, Sophia McLoney, Austin Foster; nephew, John H. Brown (Crystal); two great nieces, one great nephew, one great-great niece, and two great-great nephews.
