William "Billy" David Hayes

William “Billy” David Hayes, age 66 of Whiteville, died on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville.

Billy was born on November 14, 1955, in Hunterdon, NJ, to the late Willie Onzo Hayes and Josephine Margaret Uebel Hayes.

A celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday June 27, 2022 at the Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Father Joe Yaeger officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hayes Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Kay Clifton Hayes of the home; children: Detra Edwards (Sam) of Chadbourn, Karen Collins (Nick) of Evergreen, Nick Hayes (Kathryn)
 of Whiteville; siblings: Richard Allen Hayes of Georgetown, Mary Kesner (Ben) of New Mexico, Gladys Hayes of Whiteville, Mark Hayes (Donna) of Whiteville, Jenny Rupert (Mark) of Douglasville, GA, Annette Treutlein (Dennis) of Whiteville, Lisa Metts (Kevin) of St. Petersburg, FL, Matthew Hayes (Christine) of San Jose, CA; Grandchildren: Timothy Leigh (Cierra), Alex Edwards (Randa), Cameron Collins, Riley Collins, Isabelle Edwards; great-grandchildren: Aleah Leigh, Carter Leigh, Abigail Edwards, Tesley Leigh, Corbin Collins, and Levi Edwards.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 302 N. Lee Street, Whiteville, Whiteville, NC 28472.
