Tom Strickland Obituary
Mr. Tom Strickland, age 71 of Cerro Gordo died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at his residence. Final rites will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Thomas Fairfax officiating. Interment will follow in the Strickland Cemetery, Cerro Gordo. He was the son of the late Albert and Hettie Fairfax Strickland and also preceded in death by a brother, Joe Strickland. He is survived by his wife, Margie McPherson Strickland of the home; daughters, Patricia S. Batten of Chadbourn and Melinda S. Walker of Cerro Gordo; a son, Dewayne Strickland of Cerro Gordo; sister, Patsy S. Turner of Cerro Gordo; brothers, Jeff Strickland of Lexington and Rock Strickland of Sophie; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday 7-9 p.m. at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
