Thomas “Tom” Lamar Garrell, age 80 of Whiteville, left his earthly home and entered into his Heavenly home on Monday, December 5, 2022, while in the Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville.
Tom, as he was lovingly known, was born on November 29, 1942, son of the late George Washington and Floris Mildred Bowen Garrell; he was also preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Grey Todd Garrell, and his siblings, Gary Allen Garrell, and Donald Eugene Garrell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at New Life Community Church in Whiteville, with Pastor Charles Cribb and Pastor Roger Coffey officiating; Interment will follow in the Columbus Memorial Park.
The family will speak to friends from 10:00-10:45, prior to the service, on Saturday, at the church.
Tom was a member of New Life Community Church in Whiteville. He loved the Lord, and he loved his church. Tom began working at age 14 and retired at age 68; He worked various jobs to provide for his family.
Survivors include a daughter, Kellie Renee Garrell of Whiteville; a son, Ricky Lamar Garrell (Lottie) of Clarendon; sister, Barbara G. Babson of Bladenboro; grandchildren, Nathan Garrell (Lindsey), Tyler Williamson, Natalie Price (Stephen), Amanda Boswell (Cole), Crystal Garrell (Tony); great-grandchildren, Karleigh Grey Garrell, Harper Garrell, Brisson Patrick, Adrianna Patrick, Cameron Price, Isaac Renoso, Ariana Renoso, Telsia Boswell, Timothy Garrell, Ashton Boswell, and one great-great grandson.
