Obituary
Stevie “Melvin” Britt, lovingly known to some as “Blue Notes” age 53, of Fair Bluff, died on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Angel House Hospice Care Center, with his family by his side.
Melvin was born on July 8, 1969, to the late Stevie Roy Buffkin and Sarah Elizabeth Britt. Melvin was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Aubrie Britt.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend George Strickland and Pastor Jonathan Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery in Fair Bluff.
The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:45 on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
Melvin is survived by his children Angel “Miche’la” Britt of Vanceboro and Brenda Elizabeth Chavis of Fairmont; one brother Richard Britt of Cerro Gordo; a half sister Angie Buffkin of Tabor City; seven grandchildren Rylee Oxendine, Jeleel “JP” Timmons, Eli Oxendine, Princeton Timmons, Layken Holtzclaw, Adalynn Piurkoski, and Makayleigh Piurkoski.
