Stanley Wayne Hinson

Stanley Wayne Hinson, 75, of Cerro Gordo, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was the son of the late Walter Lewis Hinson, Sr. and Sidney Gaynelle Grantham Hinson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Dineen Hinson, and two sisters, Ellen Hinson McKeithan and Patricia Hinson Charles.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty-six years, Paulette Greene Hinson of the home, a daughter, Dawn Hinson Faulk and husband Chris of the home, a son, Dustin Hinson and wife Rena of Warsaw, two granddaughters, Anna and Sarah Faulk of the home, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Wayne was a veteran having served as a petty officer 3rd class in the US Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Saratoga. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal as well as an expert pistol medal.

He was a graduate of Pembroke State University, and worked in the manufactured housing industry for over thirty years.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Porter Swamp Baptist Church, with Pastor Tim Moore officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-6:45, prior to the service, at the church.
