Obituary
Shirley Marie Batchelor Nobles, age 63 of the China Grove Community in Chadbourn, slipped into eternity on Thursday, March 30, 2023, while in the Lower Cape Fear Angel House in Whiteville.
Shirley was born on September 25, 1959, daughter of the late James Henry Batchelor and Blanchie Retha Morgan Batchelor. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dempsey Dewayne Nobles; her brother, James H. Batchelor, Jr. and two sisters, Deborah Faye Batchelor Slater and Jean Batchelor Bass Norris.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023, at China Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Wendell Ray officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45, prior to the graveside on Monday, in the church fellowship hall.
Surviving family includes her husband, Dempsey Nobles; daughter, Misty Nobles (Danny Price); grandson, Brandon Nobles (Caitlyn); siblings, Diane (Rex) Ballard, Ann (Frankie) Reaves, Judy (Frankie) Hammonds, Sue (Randy) Bullard, Helen (Willie) Sasser, and J.D. (Rita) Batchelor.
