Shirley Lou (Dudney) Butler

Shirley Lou Dudney Butler, age 81 of Chadbourn, passed on Monday, November 22, 2021, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville.

She was an active member of the Williamson Crossroads Baptist Church and for many years employed by Belk Department Store in Whiteville as a seamstress.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021, for Shirley and her husband, Edward “Ebbie” Gearl Butler who preceded her on November 10, 2021, at the farm (residence on Princess Ann Road). Reverend Jim Lamb will officiate the memorial service.

In addition to her husband, “Ebbie”, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Kay Butler (1959) and nine siblings, Troy Junior Dudney, Emerson Dudney, Lloyd Dudney, James Brice Dudney, Cecil Dudney, Virgie Dudney Littles, Elsie Dudney Strickland, Ettie Mae Dudney Brewer and Betty Mae Dudney Hedgepeth.

Survivors include a daughter, Reida Faye Butler of the home; and two sons, Edwin Dearl Butler (Rose) of Chadbourn and Jeffery Keith Butler (Late-Elizabeth Simmons Butler) of Virginia Beach, VA; and two grandchildren, Chelsea Butler of Florida, and Rachel Ahrens (Luke) of Maine.
