Mrs. Shelby Jean Rasberry Worthington, age 72 of Florence, SC and formerly of Columbus County died Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence. SC. She was the daughter of the late Sam and Lela Rasberry and the widow of Melvin Devon Worthington. She was also preceded in death by five siblings Sam Rasberry, Jerry Rasberry, Evelyn Rasberry, Gertrude Ikner, and Flora Lewis. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Gay officiating. Interment will follow in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery, Chadbourn, NC. She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Melvin Worthington and wife, Michele of Florence, SC and Timothy Scott Worthington of Florence, SC; three grandchildren, Jeffery Cody, Kaylee, Michael Dalton. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Mrs. Worthington residence at 406 Thomas Road, Florence, SC 29501 and on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn, NC.
