Saundra Powell Horne, age 75 of Whiteville, passed away on May 8, 2026 at her residence, surrounded by family. 

Saundra was born on October 27, 1950 to the late Joseph Melvin Powell and Lillian Frances Lewis. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Douglas Powell.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Stephen Nobles officiating. Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery (13600 James B White Hwy )

The family will have a time of visitation prior to the service from 1:00-1:45 p.m. in the chapel.

Surviving family includes her husband Randy Horne of the home; daughters, Angie Deaver (Jerry) of Evergreen and Lynette Stanley (Greg) of Whiteville; siblings, Brenda Stanley and Elaine Hinson both of Whiteville; grandchildren, Paige Freeman (Alex), Jacob Smith, and Randall Smith; great-grandchildren, Lilly Freeman, Eli Deaver, Rylon Packer-Smith, Lexy Brady, Annie Smith, and Kaylee Robinson; and her fur baby Roxie.
