Sarah Bowen Hinson, 86, of Council, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Atrium Health in Concord.

Sarah was born on August 27, 1938, daughter of the late Daniel J. Bowen and Vanner Ann Smith Bowen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Rowland Hinson ; children, Eddie Hinson, Vanessa Bailey, and Cheryl Ann Hinson; siblings, Louise Sellers, Hilda Bullard, Linda Merritt, and Margaret Woodell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Worthington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Union Valley Baptist Church Cemetery; Pastor Randy Hunt will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2:00-2:45 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday. 

Sarah leaves behind a daughter, Patsy Marie Prevatte (Sammy) of Council; grandchildren, Cameron Hinson, Lindsey Hinson, Garland Prevatte, and Jacob Bailey; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, Wanda K. Jackson and Elizabeth Rabon.
