Sammy William Duncan, Sr.

Sammy William Duncan, Sr., age 78 of Whiteville entered into his heavenly home on Friday, October 30, 2020, at his residence, surrounded by his dear family.

Sammy was born on March 13, 1942, to the late William James Duncan and Stella Watts Duncan. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Ann Myrick and Beth Soles and six siblings, William “Dick” Duncan, Alma Braskey, Polly Priest, Lucille Blackburn, Geneva Stewart and Betty Phillips.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020 in the Myrtle Green Cemetery, with Reverends Pete Cribb, Perry Cribb, and Pete Cole officiating. 

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Nancy Ann Soles Duncan of the home; children; Sammy W. Duncan, Jr. (Kellie) of Whiteville, Michael Duncan of Belmont, Steven Duncan (Carole) of Whiteville, Clark Duncan (Nickie) of Gastonia and Amy Cribb (Timmy) of Whiteville ; a sister, Phyllis D. Sawyer of Loris, SC; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
