Roy Richard "Ricky" Jernigan

Roy Richard “Ricky” Jernigan age 56 of Cerro Gordo passed on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Worthington Funeral Home, with Pastor Mack Watts officiating.  *For those who can not attend, the service can be viewed on the Worthington Funeral Home Facebook Page.*

The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home, on Wednesday.

He honorably served his country in the United States Army.

Ricky was the son of Kitty Carolyn “Carol” Owens Mund of Aynor, SC and the late Roy Knox Jernigan.

In addition to his mother, Ricky is survived by his wife, Diana Lynn Kissam Jernigan of the home; step-mother, Sue Strickland of Fair Bluff; children, Cynthia “Cindy” Jernigan of Howe, OK, Brittany Jernigan of Cerro Gordo, Cody Ray Jernigan of Cerro Gordo; step children, Victoria Curtis of Howe, OK, Morgan D. Ellis (Shawn) of Stanfield and Savannah Sasser of Cerro Gordo; a special thanks to Allison Jernigan and Roy Ivey, Jr.; siblings, Veronica Soles (Reggie) of Whiteville, Tammy Buffkin of Texas, Cathy Powell of Loris, SC, Penny Buffkin of Tabor City, Cathy Hunt of Chadbourn; five grandchildren, Cassidy, Carter, Kenzie, Addi and Cora; also, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
