Robert Lloyd Rawls, 76, of Whiteville, passed away late Monday evening, June 23, 2025, at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Whiteville.

Lloyd was born on August 20, 1948, son of the late William “Buddy” Rawls, and Martha Babson Rawls. In addition, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Annette Rawls; his two wives, Patricia Holmes Rawls and Jerrie Nichols Rawls; sister, Mary Jane Hewett.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Worthington Funeral Home. A private entombment will be held at Columbus Memorial Park's Mausoleum. 

Visitation will be from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday. 

Lloyd worked as a General Foreman/ INC Technician in Nuclear power. 

The surviving family includes three children, Charlotte Rawls McDuffie and husband, Robert, Gretchen Rawls Sholar and husband, James, Jonathan Lloyd Rawls; grandchildren, Patrick McDuffie, Rae McDuffie, Stephen McDuffie, RaeAnna Sholar, Raeganne Sholar, Whitney Sholar, Mason Rawls; great-grandchildren, Lucy McDuffie, Ryder McDuffie, Jaxson Britt; brother, Charlie Rawls; brother-in-law, Donald Holmes; loyal friend, Aaron Goins; special cousins, Terry Ward and Pat Ward Babson. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare or to Whiteville High School Fastpitch Club.
