Mr. Ralph Eugene Gene Nance, age 65 of Evergreen died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville. Final Rites will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Macedonia Baptist Church with Reverend Vernon Williamson and Reverend Linzy Nance officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. He was the son of the late Ralph Nance and retired from the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Williamson Nance of the home; a daughter, Shelley Kristina Nance High and her husband, Brad of Evergreen; a son, Christopher Grant Nance and wife, Tina of Evergreen; his mother, Lillie Jane Ivey Nance of Evergreen; brothers, Curtis H. Nance of Mollie, Thurman L. Nance of Evergreen, Rev. Linzy G. Nance of Evergreen, and Mike A. Nance of Evergreen; sisters, Carol N. Floyd of Chadbourn, Rosemary N. McColskey of Evergreen, Lisa N. Cox of Ocean Isle Beach; grandchildren, MaceLynn Nance, Emmalee Nance, McKenly High, and Brayden Nance. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
