Rachel Marie (Walker) Houston

Rachel Marie Walker Houston, 61, of Whiteville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, while in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Angel House in Whiteville, NC.

Rachel was born on September 12, 1961, in Columbus County. She was preceded in death by her father, Max Berman Walker.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Worthington Funeral Home, with Pastor John Beattie officiating; burial will follow in the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.

The family will speak to friends from 2:00-2:45 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service.

Rachel’s surviving family includes her mother, Doretha Smith Walker of Whiteville; son, Travis Walker Houston of Whiteville; sisters, Valerie Walker Register (Carl), Janet Walker Caswell (Michael), Meriam Walker Fowler (Richard), Barbara Walker Long (Marco), all of Whiteville; three grandchildren, Jake, Chloe, and Luke; and her best friend, Andre Jackson of Whiteville.
