Phillip Gene Strickland

Phillip Gene Strickland, age 78 of the Cedar Grove Community in Cerro Gordo, entered into his heavenly home on Friday evening, October 23, 2020, at his residence, surrounded by his dear family.

Gene was born on February 6, 1942, to the late Gordon and Myrtle Green Strickland. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Azilee Watts, Rudolph Strickland, Brenda Hardee, and Marilyn Strickland (Infant).

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Worthington Funeral Home with Pastor Archie Paul Bullard and Rev. Neill Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Strickland Cemetery, Cerro Gordo.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. 

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Williamson Strickland of the home; children: Norma Jean Delacruz (Cecilio) of Cerro Gordo, Phillip Shannon Strickland (Jennifer Hammond) of Cerro Gordo; sister, Elizabeth S. Cribb of Loris, SC; grandchildren: Quentin Strickland and Lindsey Strickland; one great-grandchild, Marissa Antone.
