Peggy Weatherford Hayes, 81, of Cerro Gordo, went on to be with Jesus on Sunday, November 30, 2025, while in the Columbus Regional Healthcare System.

Peggy was born on May 18, 1944, daughter of the late Paul Weatherford, Sr.  and Kathleen Ward Weatherford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hayes.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Worthington Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Dudley and Pastor David Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Worthington Funeral Home.

Peggy leaves behind her two daughters, Carol Hayes Jeffers of Cerro Gordo and Traci Hayes Storms of Elizabethtown; siblings, Cindy Weatherford Little (Doug), Linda Weatherford Soles (Doug), Paul Weatherford, Jr. (Nancy) and Marty Weatherford (Penny); grandchildren, Derrick Jeffers (Caroline), Daniel B. Jeffers (Nikki), Ashley Jeffers (Justin), Jared Storms and McKenzi Storms; great-grandchildren, Brantley, Abel, Rebekah, Alexis, Ethan, Paisley, Aubrey, Carter, Mia.
