Paula Leigh Byrd Garrell, 56, of Wallace, NC passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026. 

Paula was born on October 4, 1969 to Paul Roger Byrd and the late Janice Harris Byrd. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Worthington Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lake Waccamaw; Pastor Jonathan Simmons will officiate. 

Visitation will be prior to the service in the Chapel from 10:00-10:45 a.m. 

Surviving family includes her husband, Bobby D. Garrell; daughter, Hannah Garrell Bailey (Caleb Schantz); grandson, Carsten Reece Schantz; father, Roger Byrd; brother, Chester Roger Byrd; nieces and nephews, Matthew Byrd, Heath Byrd, Harlee Byrd Cammarono, Hayden Byrd Lavigne; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
