Nell (Lennon) Caviness Obituary

Nell Lennon Caviness, 92,  passed away peacefully at her home in Bladenboro, NC on November 3, 2025. 


Nell was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Bladenboro, where she was active in the "Closely Knit" ministry and the music ministry (choir and piano). Nell was a retired teacher who taught in NC public schools for 34 years. After retirement in 1993, she enjoyed traveling, painting, gardening, knitting, reading, and spending time with extended family. 


Nell is predeceased by her parents J. Alton & Clara Lennon, and brother, Ross Alton Lennon. 


Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Bladenboro.


The family will receive friends at the home on Tuesday and Wednesday between the hours of 1:00-7:00 p.m. - 173 J. Alton Lennon Road, Bladenboro. 


She is survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara B. Lennon; her nephews, Yates, Craig & Mark Lennon, and their families (including 4 great nephews and 1 great niece, and their children).


In her last year of life, Nell was lovingly cared for by the kind nurses and aides of Liberty Hospice and her extended family. 


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations maybe directed to Samaritan's Purse in Boone or to First Baptist Church of Bladenboro.
