Milton Rudolph Mayes Obituary
Mr. Milton Rudolph Mayes, age 77 of Evergreen died Friday, January 1, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Evergreen Baptist Church with Reverend Tony Ward and Reverend Ricky Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. He was the son of the late Alfred and Maie Britt Mayes and was also preceded in death by a son, Milton Wayne Mayes. Mr. Mayes retired after 26 years of service as a mechanic for the NC Highway Patrol. He is survived by his wife, Geneva Cothran Mayes of the home; a daughter, Lynda M. Small (Keith) of Green Sea, SC; daughter-in-law, Sandi Elrod Mayes of Yulee, FL; foster sister, Betty Mann of Chantilly, VA; 5 grandchildren, Shane Soles (Shaina), Tyler Soles, Heath Small, Ricky Bedwell (Kim), Melody Googe (Jamie); and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. A service of Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
