Mildred Loraine (Stanley) Bullock

Loraine Stanley Bullock, age 91, died on April 7, 2022 at home in Chadbourn, NC following an extended illness.

Born February 22, 1931 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Emerson Stanley and Vira Hinson Stanley and the widow of Malcom Van Bullock, the love of her life.

Mrs. Bullock was a long-time member of Williamson’s Crossroads Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher and was actively involved in many aspects of the church.

She graduated with an Associate degree in Nursing from Southeastern Community College and served as an LPN at Columbus County Hospital for over twenty years.

Surviving are three sons: Malcolm Stanley Bullock (Marilyn) of Chadbourn, NC; Darryl Van Bullock (Valerie) of Summerville, SC and Henry Rossie Bullock (Karen) of Chadbourn, NC; four grandchildren: Amanda Leggett (Craig) of Evergreen, NC; James Bullock (Julie) of Clayton, NC; Jason Fowler (Heather) of Charlotte, NC; Kristen Britt (Jay) of Chadbourn, NC;  and eight great grandchildren: Andrew Nance of Savannah, GA; Kinley Nance of Chadbourn, NC; Bradley Leggett of Evergreen, NC; Byron Leggett, Evergreen, NC; Brock and Caitlin Fowler of Charlotte, NC; Abigail and Mattie Grace Bullock of Clayton, NC and Jason and Noah Britt of Chadbourn, NC.

In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by an infant daughter: Sharon Loraine Bullock; five brothers: Hubert Stanley, Paul Stanley, Homer Stanley, Selmon Stanley and Cecil Stanley; and five sisters: Gladys Mills, Estelle Jayroe, Lucille Cox, Dot Elkin and June Nichols.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude for caregivers, Opal Little and Linda Hilbourn as well as Liberty Hospice for all of their love and care throughout this difficult time.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Piney Forest Baptist Church Cemetery, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Willard McPherson, Rev. Jim Lamb, and Rev. Bobby Winebarger officiating. 

Visitation will follow the service.
