Mary Catherine “Cathy” Haynes Nance of Cerro Gordo, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Novant-New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Known for her love of flowers, Cathy was born on January 13, 1956, daughter of the late Elmer Thurman "Bug" Haynes, Jr. and Mary Catherine “Betty Jo” Haynes.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Worthington Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Caines officiating, Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery, Fair Bluff.

Visitation will be from 2:00-2:45 p.m. prior to the service on Friday.

Cathy leaves behind her two daughters, Bridget Haynes Britt of Gastonia, Candace Armstrong of Mooresville; grandsons, Ethan Armstrong and Dylan Armstrong; sisters, Angela Boaz, Nancy Murray, Cindy Glenn; host of extended family and friends.
