Mary Lee (Williamson) Strickland

Mary Lee Williamson Strickland, age 80 of Cerro Gordo, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, NC.

Final rites will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday (October 23, 2020) at the Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Denise Clewis and Pastor Jonathan Simmons officiating.

Interment will follow in the Strickland Family Cemetery in Cerro Gordo. 

The family will receive friends 2:00 pm until 2:45 pm Friday, prior to the service at Worthington Funeral Home.

Mrs. Strickland was born on July 10, 1940, in Columbus County to the late Alton Loys and Mary Nora W. Williamson.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Strickland and two brothers, Buddy “Bud” Williamson and Charles “Charlie” Williamson.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Sue Ward (David) of Cerro Gordo, Shawnee Blanton of Cerro Gordo; three sisters, Betty Jean Strickland (Gene) of Cerro Gordo, Gella Kay Ludlum (David) of Bladenboro and Gettie Carol Brisson (Wallace) of Elizabethtown; a grandson, Anthony David Ward (Jennifer Paige Ward) and two great-grandchildren, William Ethan Adams and Weston Luke Ward.
