Mrs. Mary Alice Horton Bell, age 70 of Whiteville died Friday, December 11, 2009 at Shoreland Healthcare and Retirement Center in Whiteville. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Western Prong Baptist Church Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Boyce and Clara Mae Rhodes Horton. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Lynn Todd McGirt of Whiteville; a son, James Clyde Todd of Clarendon; sister, Geanita H. Ward of Wilmington; brother, two brothers, Willis Horton of Whiteville and Arthur Horton of Ashville; 3 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn is handling the arrangements. No service information has been added.
