Mary Yvonne Smith Atkinson, age 78 of Whiteville, entered into rest on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Shoreland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Whiteville. A native of Columbus County, Mary was born on January 3, 1941 to the late Henry Thomas Smith and Emma Lee Buck Smith. Also, preceding Mary in death was a grandson, Ricky Clyde Todd, Jr. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Pireway Community Church Cemetery in Tabor City; Reverend Bradley Butler will be officiating the service. Survivors include two children, Ricky Clyde Todd of Charlotte, Randy Thomas Todd of Chadbourn; a sister, Henrietta Smith Wyatt (David) of Leland; five Grandchildren and Two Great-Grandchildren. Worthington Funeral Home is serving the family.
