Marvin McPherson, 89, of the Beaverdam Community, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at his home.
Marvin was born on January 24, 1935, in Columbus County, son of the late Carson McPherson and Clyde McPherson. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Retha Cribb McPherson; sister, Margaret Evans; brothers-in-law, Odis Cribb, Jim Kendrick, Leverle Kinlaw; sister-in-law, Fleetie Kinlaw.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Buddy Seay officiating. Interment will follow in the McPherson Cemetery.
The time of visitation will be 1:30-2:45 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday, at Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church.
Marvin served his Country in the United States Navy. He retired as an insurance salesman and retired from the Chadbourn Post Office. Marvin was a faithful member of Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church.
He leaves behind two daughters, Diana M. McKeithan and her husband, Rory, of Fairmont and Ginger M. Ward of Whiteville; grandchildren: Jason Mishoe, Chris Canady, Justin Canady, Jonathan Juhl, and Grace Juhl; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jeanette Cribb of Whiteville, Shirley Hilburn and her husband, Cofield, of Monroe, Ervin McPherson and his wife, Juanita, of Whiteville; sister-in-law, Reba Kendrick of High Point; brother-in-law, Wayne Evans of Delco.
