Martha Nobles Duncan, 86, of the Ward Station Community of Chadbourn, entered into the presence of Jesus on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, while in her home.

Martha was born on August 14, 1938, daughter of the late William “Willie” Lee Nobles and Minnie Lee Nobles. She was also preceded in death by her  husband, Grady Duncan; daughter, Lisa Duncan Buffkin; siblings, Alton Nobles, Archie Nobles, Elroy Nobles, Earl Nobles, Gladys Prevatte, Mary Creech, Kathleen Hilbourn, Sarah Robinson, Onzie Nobles, and Emma Lee Edwards.
  
Martha’s funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Ward Station Church of God, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, at Worthington Funeral Home.

Martha was a faithful servant of the Lord. She was a dedicated member of Ward Station Church of God, of which she served in various roles throughout the years, including serving as the church clerk for 51 years, former choir director, Sunday school teacher, and VBS volunteer.

Martha leaves behind her son, Mark Duncan and wife, Angela, of Chadbourn; grandchildren: Melissa Watts, Cory Duncan, Amanda Green, Amber Walters; great-grandchildren, Olivia Watts, Joshua Watts, Tucker Green, Montana Duncan, Tori Green, Mason Walters, and Mallory Duncan; sister, Sadie Nobles Hammonds of Chadbourn; son-in-law, Ricky Buffkin of Chadbourn.
