Mrs. Maggie Mae McLamb Batten, age 73 of Chadbourn, died Friday, July 03, 2009 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Jonathan Simmons and Reverend Doug Mathis. Interment will following in the Batten Family Cemetery. Surviving family include daughters, Willa Dean Thompson of Cerro Gordo and Christy Batten of Chadbourn; sons, Billy Ray Batten of Chadbourn, Weldon Batten of Cerro Gordo, Daniel Batten of Chadbourn and Jerry Wayne Batten of Hemingway, SC; brothers, Mayo McLamb of Nakina; sisters, Cleo M. Jenerette of Nakina and Nedale M. Cribb of Tabor City; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
