Obituary
Lynda Carol Williamson, 79, of Chadbourn, peacefully entered Heaven on Friday evening, May 5, 2023, while in the Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Lynda was born on October 22, 1943, in Lumberton, NC, daughter of the late Irvin Williamson and Dollie Fairfax Williamson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Caines officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will speak to friends from 3:00-3:45 prior to the service on Tuesday, at the church.
Lynda was a graduate of Evergreen High School and Miller Motte College. She was also a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Evergreen. Prior to her retirement, Lynda served as the secretary for Evergreen Elementary School; she ended her secretarial career after 38 years of dedication to the Columbus County School System. She was an avid reader and loved sending and receiving cards in the mail.
To cherish her memory, Lynda leaves behind her loving sister, Bernice W. Jenkins and husband, OC, of Cerro Gordo; nieces, Michelle McNamara, Denise McCammon (Matt); great-nieces & nephews, Jackson, Abby, Tanner, and Witton.
