Lonnie James Mercer, age 53 of Whiteville died Tuesday, October 13, 2009 in Dillon, SC. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Abundant Life Assembly of God in Whiteville with Reverend Jerry Spivey officiating. Interment will follow in Columbus Memorial Park in Whiteville. He was the son of the late, William James Mercer. He is survived by his wife, Christine Pridgen Mercer of home; two daughters, Sabrina Dawn Hamilton and husband, Gary of Whiteville and Melissa Ann Noble and husband, Brett of Wallace; mother, Martha Surles Jones of Lake Waccamaw; brother, John Gillispe Jones of Wilmington; sisters, Sharon Sue Cribb of Whiteville, Pamela Jean Cribb of Whiteville, Martha Lynn Jones of Wilmington, and Barbara Gail Jones of Wilmington; 6 grandchildren. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
