Lila Pearl Gore Ward, age 85 of the Mollie Community, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 18, 2021.
Lila was born on September 20, 1935 in Horry County to the late Jesse Lennon Gore and Maybell Cannady Gore. She was the widow of Lory Ward who preceded her in 1984 and was also preceded in death by four siblings, Irene Gore, J.W. Gore, Junior Gore and Ethelen Stanley; and a grandson, Jonathan Ward.
Final rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend James Howard Nobles officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tabor City.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 pm on Tuesday prior to the service at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
To cherish her memory, she leaves behind eight children, Jeanette W. Daniel (Bruce) of Leland, Jerry Ward of Clarendon, Lloyd Ward of Mollie, Robert Ward (Teresa) of Cerro Gordo, Betty W. Carter (Ray) of Tabor City, Roy Ward (Deborah) of Tabor City, Brenda W. Lawson (Brian) of Leland and Tammy Ward (Abby) of Mollie; a sister, Dianne Gore Bullard (Ernest) of Monroe; and many grand and great-grandchildren.
