Kathy Sharon Herring Barnhill, 68, of Tabor City, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Kathy was born on January 7, 1957, daughter of the late Alfred Herring, Sr. and Hazel McDonald Herring. In addition, she was also preceded in death by her loving step-father, Pedro Lancaster; siblings, Alfred Herring, Jr., Kevin Lancaster and Jean Blue.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Worthington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Flynn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home.

The surviving family includes her husband, Mark Wayne Barnhill; children, Michelle Durden (Rocky), Justin Inman (Brandy), Matthew Barnhill; sisters, Debbie Workinger, Lorrie Lancaster, Mike Herring, Joan Elloitt; grandchildren, Colby Collins, Adrianna Collins, Abbigail Inman, Colton Inman, Abbee Merry, Aidyn Merry; great-grandchild, Oaklann Harrell.
