Mr. Julian Ray Benson, Sr., age 63 of Whiteville died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at his residence. Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Hosea Simmons Cemetery, Whiteville with Reverend Ray Cribb and Reverend Donald Squires officiating. He was the son of the late Luther and Evelyn Daniels Benson. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Ward Benson; four daughters, Ashley B. Hobbs of Chadbourn, Tammie B. Todd of Clarkton, Donna B. Chambers of Lisbon, and Annette B. Bryan of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sons, Corbett Ray Benson of the home and Julian Ray Benson, Jr. of Clarkton; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Sparkman of Baltimore, MD; 8 grandchildren. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
