Judy Gail (Ward) Cartrette

Judy Gail Ward Cartrette, age 70, of the Beaverdam Community of Clarendon, went to be with to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Angel House in Whiteville.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Buddy Seay officiating. Interment will follow in the McPherson Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:30-3:45, prior to the service, at the church. 

Judy was born on June 15, 1951 in Columbus County to the late L.D. Ward and Cecil Johnson Ward.  She was the widow of Bobby O’Neal Cartrette, who preceded her in 2019, and was also preceded by three siblings, Diana W. Graham, Annette W. Watts and Ricky Ward; and a step-son, Bobby Cartrette.

To cherish her memory, Judy Gail leaves behind three children, Avonda Faye Pierce (Buddy) of Whiteville, Sam Buffkin (Tammy) of Clarendon and Jason P. Buffkin (Sherry) of Clarendon; two step-children, Tammy Renee Cartrette Price (Ivan) of Whiteville and Roy Gene Cartrette (Billie Jo) of Whiteville; two siblings, Donna W. Ray (Davie) of Clarendon and Teresa W. Cox (Kenny) of Loris, SC; grandchildren, Aubrey Neal Cartrette (Haley), Tony Ray Smith, Amy Leanne Stocks (Neil), Jessica Renee Hollman (Wesley), Stevi Jean Cartrette, Grayson Buffkin, Tyler Buffkin and Caleb Shaun Buffkin; great-grandchildren, Luke, Maddox, Tatum, Abel, Holden and Brianna.

Memorials may be made to Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church or to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center.
