John Paul Gass

John Paul Gass, 77, of Lake Waccamaw, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2023, at Premier Living Nursing & Rehabilitation. 

John was born on June 30, 1946, in Artesia, New Mexico, son of the late Millard Hiriam Gass and Elizabeth Eugenia “Betty” Gunn Gass. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas “Tom” Gass. 

Graveside services commemorating John’s life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lake Waccamaw, with Reverend Dr. Darrin Moore officiating. 

The family will speak to friends following the service. 

John was employed by the United States Postal Service in Raleigh, NC for 22 years, retiring in 2006. 

To cherish his memory, John leaves behind his loving niece, Chauntel Gass Eason and her husband, Chad, of Lake Waccamaw; great-nephew & niece, Thomas Grey Eason and Macy Elizabeth Eason.
