John "Dub" Douglas Nance

John Douglas “Dub” Nance, age 85 of Chadbourn, entered into the joys of the Lord on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at his home.

Dub, as he was lovingly known, was born on January 14, 1936, and was the son of the late John and Gatsy Victoria Nance. He was also preceded in death by five siblings, Carlton Nance, Donald Nance, Bobby Nance, Jackie Nance Heflin and Lewis Nance.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Powell Cemetery in Fair Bluff; Rev. George Strickland will officiate the service.

Dub leaves behind his dear wife, Elizabeth “Libby” Ann Edwards Nance of the home; children, Douglas Owen Nance of Cleveland, OH, Tina Nance Blackmon (Tommy) of Whiteville, Melissa Collins Wilson of Cerro Gordo, Betty Gayle Wilson of Kinston; sister, Lois N. Green of Chadbourn; grandchildren, Corey Powell (Tiffany), LeAnne Nance, Timmy Nance, Jason Nance (Alicia), Riley Wilson, Ashley Meares (Jerry), Alicia Wilson; 11 Great-grandchildren and 3 Great-Great-grandchildren.
