Joey Allen Garrell, 65, of the Beaverdam community, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at his residence.

Joey was born on March 6, 1961, son of the late Floyd Allen Garrell and Jean Mercer Garrell.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Buddy Seay officiating. Burial will follow in the McPherson Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 1:30-2:45 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday. 

Surviving family includes his wife, Rhonda Byrd Garrell; children, Laura Garrell Bartley (Brandon), David Garrell (Brittney), and Daryl Wayne Garrell (Jodi); grandchildren, Marley Grayce Spivey, Ryleigh Madison Garrell, Jace Wayne Garrell, Emma Jean Garrell, Olivia Faith Garrell, Dally Jo Garrell, Everley Graye Bartley, Bryce Allen Garrell, and Lexi Bartley Small (Cole); siblings, Marcia G. Hobbs (Tommy), Reverend Dalma G. Cribb (Aaron), Nena G. Greene (Randy); special brother, James Jeremiah "Jerry" McDuffie.
