Mr. Joel Joe Strickland, age 73 of Cerro Gordo died Thursday, February 26, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be conduced 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Thomas Fairfax officiating. Interment will follow in the Strickland Cemetery, Cerro Gordo. He was the son of the late Albert and Hettie Fairfax Strickland. He is survived by a sister, Patsy S. Turner of Cerro Gordo; three brothers, Tom Strickland of Cerro Gordo, Rock Strickland of Trinity and Jeff Strickland of Lexington. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
