Jimmy Wayne Jones

Jimmy Wayne Jones, age 82 of Evergreen, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, April 2, 2021, at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Wilmington, NC. 

Jimmy was born on May 1, 1938 in Lumberton, NC, to the late Charlie Lafayette Jones and Rebecca Marcelle Hinson Jones.

He was a member of New Center Baptist Church in Bladenboro and was employed by Federal Paper Board/International Paper in Riegelwood for 43 years of service retiring in 2000. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Floyd Memorial Gardens in Lumberton with Reverend Kevin Kinlaw officiating.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Tuesday at Worthington in Chadbourn.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo McKeithan Jones of the home; children: Christy Lynne Jones Hannan (Michael) of Leland, Wendy Ann Jones of Holly Ridge and Vicky Jones Hutchins of Wilmington; sister, Faye Jones Cox of Whiteville; three grandchildren, Erin Nickens (Erich) of Wilmington, Reynolds Hutchins of Washington, DC and Christian Hutchins (fiancée Katie Colin) of Malibu, CA; and a great-grandson, Ethan Nickens of Wilmington.
