Jeffrey L Hissong, II, age 38 of North Myrtle Beach, passed away October 11, 2020. He was born December 1, 1981 in Henderson, North Carolina. After graduating from Wake Forest High School, Jeffrey attended college at the “University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG)” where he majored in computer science. He was an “Award Winning” chef at “Goodfellas Seafood Hut” in North Myrtle Beach at the time of his passing.
Jeffrey loved cooking, music, and sports. He won several cooking awards as a chef at “Goodfellas Seafood Hut”. While attending college he played the “bass guitar” in a local band and enjoyed playing at some of the local establishments. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to college basketball (Duke), pro football (Kansas Chiefs), and pro hockey (Penguins).
Jeffrey is survived by his parents Jeff and Teresa Hissong of Whiteville; mother Carol Coleman, his stepbrother Steven Cox and wife Ashton of Bladenboro; stepsister Brittany Rooks, nephew Kaiden, and niece Kenzie of Red Springs. He also leaves several loving Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Bill and Ruth Hissong, Earl and Hazel Coleman, and Aunt Teen Hissong Floyd.
Due to COVID19, the family has decided to have a closed memorial service Saturday at “Higher Ground Worship Center” in Whiteville, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to assist with final expenses. Donations can be mailed to Jeffrey Hissong, 128 Dalton Fowler Lane, Whiteville, North Carolina 28472. If we are blessed to receive donations in excess of the final expenses, the overage will be donated in Jeffrey’s name to a local charity.
