Jason Efird Obituary

Jason Tony Efird, age 77 of Clarkton went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 9, 2017. Final rites will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Merlin Boone and Reverend Coy Long officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 8:00 p.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. He was the son of the late Essie Mae Bullard Efird and Therrell Vernon Efird. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 56 years, Mildred Ward Efird of the home; a son, Vernon Efird of Norfolk, VA and a daughter, Denise Efird Branch (Kevin) of Clarkton; three sisters, Carolyn Efird Aldridge (Carl) of Concord, Sylvia Efird McBryde (Connie) of Concord and Mary Efird Bullard of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Adam Branch of Clarkton, Erin Scott (Andrew) of Supply and Shelly Nix (Michael) of Boardman; three great-grandchildren, Morgan Nix, Kenzie Nix and Austin Lanier. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 9512 Red Hill Road, Whiteville, NC 28472 or to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
