Janice Ann (Ward) White

Janice Ann Ward White, 78, of Ash, died on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in the Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

Janice was born on October 12, 1944, daughter of the late James Dayton Ward and Nona “Noni” Puckett Ward. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Brenda Hughes and Alice Ward Tedder; son, Paul Clewis; husband, Major M. White; brother, Glen Ward.

Janice loved the ocean and loved to fish; she also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

A private funeral service was conducted on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Worthington Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Griffin Cemetery, Ash. 

Surviving family includes her sisters, Sandra Everette of Fair Bluff, Jane Bousquet (Marc) of Raleigh; daughter, Paula Hines of Kentucky; grandchildren, Deborkah Butler (Eddie) of Chadbourn, Deirdre Hines of Denver, Brandon Paul Clewis, Courtney Clewis of Ash, Bruce Clewis of Ocean Isle Beach, Gabriella Hines of Kentucky, Harley Hines of Kentucky, Kayla & Nikki Jo, both of Brunswick County; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren, and many loved nieces & nephews, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law.
