James “Jimmy” Alvin Smith, age 81 of Supply, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 8, 2026 at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

Jimmy was the son of the late Worth Dewey Smith Sr. and Clelia Mae Tyner Smith.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Dean Smith and a daughter, Sherry Lynn Smith.  He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Susie Mae Harrelson, Robert Gerald “Jerry” Smith and Judith Carol Johnson.

Jimmy enjoyed working in the yard landscaping, NASCAR racing, all sports and a love for all animals. 

A celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Oak Dale Baptist Church (6233 Joe Brown Hwy North, Whiteville, NC 28472) with Reverend Dean Jackson officiating.

To cherish his memory he leaves his wife, Linda Faye Boyd Smith of the home; five children, Sheila Renee Smith of Whiteville, Sandra Carol Smith Riffe (David) of La Grainge,  KY, Stephanie Mae Smith Brown (Tyrike) of Bladenboro, Clifford Timothy Richards (Christie) of Supply and Marcus Wayne Richards (Randi) of Lumberton;  siblings, Willis Smith (Judy) of Evergreen, Shelby Jean Wright (Roger) of Goose Creek, SC, Worth Dewey Smith Jr. (Jean) of Whiteville and Linda Cartrette (Larry) of Clarkton; 26 grand and great-grandchildren.
