Mr. James Robert Bobby Worthington, age 72 of Whiteville died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Richard Robinson and Reverend Jim Skinner officiating. Interment will follow in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.

He was the son of the late James Ralph and Valma Soles Worthington and was also preceded in death by two siblings, Catherine Bronice Worthington and Melvin Devon Worthington.

Bobby was a member of Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as head usher and Deacon. He also served on the Columbus County Department of Aging Board.

He is survived by his wife, Jannette Nobles Worthington of the home; sons, Robert Randy Worthington and wife, Betsy of Whiteville, Mickey D. Worthington and wife, Michelle of Whiteville and Steven O. Worthington and wife, Tabatha of Clarkton; brothers, Ronald B. Worthington and wife, Starr of Ocean Isle Beach and Densil Worthington of Chadbourn; grandchildren, Randall Worthington, Meghan Worthington, Ryan Worthington and Ashtyn Worthington.

Memorials may be made to the Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church Family Life Center, 518 N. Elm Street, Chadbourn, NC 28431.

The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
