James Walter Tedder

James “Walter” Tedder, age 85 of Shallotte and formerly of Chadbourn, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. 

Walter was born on November 6, 1935 to the late David James Tedder and Rosa Ann West Tedder.  He was also preceded in death by four siblings, Jimmy Tedder, Lois Ann Henry, Mildred T. Hamilton and David James Tedder; and one grandchild, Jeffery Wayne Myers. 

Mr. Tedder served in the National Guard for over 14 years.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Tony Wyatt officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home  

Interment will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the Gurganus Cemetery at Shallotte Point;1160 Village Point Road, Shallotte, NC 28470  

He is survived by his wife, Miriam Walker Tedder of the home; three children, Walter David Tedder, Sybil Ann Carden and James Patrick Tedder all of Shallotte; sister, Margaret T. Barnes (Franklin Merle) of Carthage; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
