James JC Curtis Nobles, age 70 of Chadbourn died Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Alton Cribb and Reverend Danny Jeffers officiating. Interment will follow in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery. He was the son of the late Crawford and Engora Cartrette Nobles and was the husband of the late Shelby Jane Cribb Nobles. He is survived by three sons, Danny Jeffers of Cerro Gordo, Ronnie Jeffers of Chadbourn, Tim Dewitt of Whiteville; daughters, Tammy Jenrette of Tabor City, Elizabeth Powell of Whiteville and Melissa Faye Helms of Bassett, VA; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
