James Gary Blackman Obituary
Mr. James Gary Blackman, age 60 of Old Dock died Saturday at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylvia. Final rites will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Lambert and Reverend Wayne Faulk officiating. Interment will follow in the Gary Blackman Family Cemetery, Old Dock. He was the son of the late Cleveland Wilson and Myrtle Irene Simmons Blackman. Mr. Blackman was owner and operator of Blackmans Country Store and Tire Service in Old Dock. He is survived by his wife, Patrician Ann Tedder Blackman of the home; two daughters, Patricia DeAnna Blackman Heimnick of Whiteville and Kimberly Ann Blackman Ward of Whiteville; two sons, Shannon Blackman of Whiteville and Daniel Blackman of the home; sisters, Lois B. Suggs of Whiteville, Christine B. Palmatier of Leland, Judy B. Gore of Pireway, and Susie B. Cribb of Whiteville; brothers, Mitchell Blackman of Burgaw and Michael Blackman of Whiteville; six grandchildren, Jessica Blackman, Taylor Blackman, Anna Blackman, Christopher Heimnick, Marcus Heimnick, and Lilly Ward Pallbearers will be Tim Marlowe, Scott Babson, Terry Register, John Bailey, Ed Ray and Russell Shepherd. Memorial may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472 The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
